Stubbs Alderton & Markiles, LLP is pleased to congratulate partner Cathleen Green on being named “Emerging Leader of the Year” by the Los Angeles Business Journal at its second annual M&A Awards. The M&A Awards recognize leading dealmakers and notable transactions “shaping Southern California’s dealmaking landscape.”
Cathleen, who the Los Angeles Business Journal describes as “a trusted architect behind many of the entertainment industry’s most sophisticated corporate deals,” was recognized for the strategic counsel she provides to a diverse range of clients, including A-list talent, production companies, and digital media companies. Her practice encompasses structuring and advising on mergers and acquisitions, licensing, sponsorship and endorsement transactions, complex joint ventures, and financing matters.
The Business Journal continues to highlight two of Cathleen’s notable transactions from the past year and a half: Propagate Content’s acquisition of Sway Social, and GamesBeat’s spinoff from VentureBeat.
As a member of the SA&M team representing Propagate Content, Cathleen played an integral role in structuring the acquisition of Sway Social. The transaction ultimately allowed Sway Social to maintain its existing leadership while operating as part of Propagate Content, with Sway Social CEO Callen Hamilton Boyer leading the agency as a division of Propagate Content.
Cathleen also advised on GamesBeat’s establishment as an independent entity through its April 2025 spin-off from VentureBeat. Working alongside partner Greg Akselrud, the two structured the transaction so CEO Gina Joseph and editorial director Dean Takahashi could further expand the company’s coverage and develop it as a standalone medium.
