Oral is a registered patent attorney and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US). Oral’s practice focuses on technology transactions, licensing, data rights, and patent issues. He has worked throughout his career to resolve legal challenges for innovators who create and use technology. Before coming to the firm, Oral worked in-house for Fortune 100 companies in technology and entertainment, as well as in private practice at an Am Law 100 firm. He has worked in research university and federal laboratory environments, and he has driven technology transfer and development activities from both the university and industry sides.
Oral has an extensive background in negotiating commercial contracts for the development and delivery of hardware, on-premises software, and software-as-a-service (SaaS). Additionally, he has negotiated terms in government contracts and subcontracts, including for data rights, confidentiality, and technology collaboration. He also has deep experience in and has trained contracting professionals in the areas of intellectual property protection, supplier liability, contractual indemnity, and privacy.
