Dan Rozansky and Jeremy Beutler’s article “Picasso Copyright Case Reversed: The Complexity of Fair Use” was recently published by Forbes. The article details the complexities of a fair use case where two U.S. Courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, reached very different conclusions. The difference in opinions resulted in the Ninth Circuit’s reversal of the district court’s ruling that a French court’s judgment pertaining to a lawsuit involving photos of Pablo Picasso’s art was unenforceable under U.S. law.
