
Louis Wharton is a Partner and Co-Chair of the Firm’s Venture Capital & Emerging Growth Practice. He advises venture-backed companies, emerging growth businesses, middle-market enterprises, public companies, venture capital funds and professional investors on complex corporate transactions and strategic business matters. With more than two decades of experience, Louis serves as a trusted advisor to founders, boards of directors, management teams and investors through every stage of the business lifecycle, from formation and financing through acquisition, liquidity and public-company operations.
Louis' practice focuses on venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, growth equity investments, strategic transactions, securities offerings, corporate governance and public company compliance. He regularly represents buyers, sellers, issuers and investors in transactions ranging from early-stage financings to complex strategic acquisitions and divestitures. He also advises companies and boards on governance, executive compensation, commercial transactions and day-to-day business strategy.
Louis’ leadership and industry involvement include past service as the President of the Los Angeles Venture Association, President of the Preccelerator Program and Trustee of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association. Louis is a regular speaker on venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, executive compensation and emerging-company issues.
