Dongye “Joe” Zhou is a Senior Counsel at the Firm.
Joe’s practice focuses on corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, commercial contracts, and general corporate matters. He represents strategic companies, private equity funds and their portfolio companies, venture capital investors, and business owners across a broad range of industries, advising clients on complex transactions.
Prior to joining the Firm, Joe practiced at large national law firms, gaining extensive experience in representing clients across a variety of transactions and business cycles. Between growing up in the United States and living in Beijing, Joe brings a strong and diverse background to his practice. Joe has drafted transactional contracts and documents, including distribution agreements, supplier agreements, and purchase agreements. Additionally, Joe has drafted legal memoranda in a variety of legal fields, including international trade law, international law, and Chinese law, and has performed legal transactions between English and Chinese.
Joe obtained his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2015 and his Bachelor of Laws degree from Beijing University of Technology in 2012. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Ohio and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2022.
