
Coby Shirazi is an associate of the Firm.
Coby's practice primarily focuses on the representation of private and public companies, private equity funds and their portfolio companies, investors, founders and business owners in a broad range of middle-market corporate transactions. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, minority and strategic investments, entity formation, equity arrangements, and corporate governance matters. He advises clients across a variety of industries, including software and technology, food and beverage, aerospace and defense, entertainment, renewable energy and construction.
Prior to joining the Firm, Coby practiced in the mergers and acquisition group at an Am Law 50 international law firm in its Los Angeles office. There, he represented private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, strategic acquirers, investors, and business owners in both buy-side and sell-side transactions throughout all stages of the transaction lifecycle, while also advising clients on general corporate and governance matters.
Earlier in his career, Coby gained experience in tax controversy and litigation matters and worked at KPMG, where he advised corporations, multinational businesses and high net-worth individuals in international corporate transactions. His tax background provides him with additional perspective when evaluating the structuring and tax considerations that arise in corporate transactions and general corporate governance matters.
Coby earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California Los Angeles, and his Juris Doctor and LL.M. in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law.
