Successful digital media entrepreneurs and advisers will discuss the “jungle” that digital media startups face when launching and later operating their businesses, including the uphill battle of getting financed, go-to-market decisions on distribution, and how to collaborate with strategic partners to grab users. The conversation will aim to discuss trends in financing (including convertible notes, series seed, crowdfunding, AngelList and Kickstarter), distribution strategies of launching a service of content on owned websites vs. on platforms like YouTube, opportunities to market a service or content (including decisions around co-marketing and joint ventures) and exit strategies for the digital startup.
